Sun-As-Always-Shining

The wind has been blowing…with dark clouds in the background. One of those days Winnie-The-Pooh would call a Blustery Day.

My life is a mix of such media–there are winds that blow over the landscapes of my soul.  Then, there are dark clouds that hover–sometimes coming nearer–other times staying in the distance…and the sun shining over it all.  Sometimes I see the sun.  Other times, I really don’t…yet it is always shining.

Blustery days hold the best and worst of life in a grand sort of mix.  In order to walk well with the challenges of life, I must be willing to walk in the mixes of the lovely and the ugly, the calm and the tempest.  It all comes back to courage, honesty, and faithfulness.  Will I walk in the honesty of my best moment and of my worst moment?  More to ponder…

Is life’s burdens meant to be a light and airy thing to wear–as any beautiful gown or silk scarf?   Or Is it a chain or a garland?  I like to see in my own life a gift.  The response of my heart’s ability to receive such gift determines my life’s quality and influence.  The blustery days will never be boring.  Somehow I see the sun-as-always-shining is a part of my walking well.  I am on a journey to discover and reclaim what I’ve once lost. The journey itself is blustery.  Often,  there are dark clouds on the horizon. The winds blow in.  In that wind, perhaps, I will find the freshness of a spring day. Will you join me in this journey?

Yowza.  Storm pummels Mt. Bachelor five feet of fresh snow, overnight.  It behaved like a rambunctious child trying to outdo the weekend’s snowstorm in the valley with its bigger tantrum.  Local schools were forced to close.  Free play for all…it bodes well for ski resorts to bust open more runs and and crank up all of their lifts.  Weather forecasts predict another storm system rolling in.  With snow anticipated everyday over next ten days, I have plenty of knitting, spinning, designing, stitching, studying…to keep me productive and toasty warm 😀  On the other hand, my friend Christi in Texas is soaking up the heat–in the 70s.  Surrounding herself in wool is just not very enticing.  Instead, she is doing a little of spinning until she finds her calling.  How about you?  Cold? Warm? Wet? Or dry as in drought?  What do you do for pleasure in the winter months?
