The world was blessed at Christmas with a miracle of love
a guiding star and angel choir rejoicing from above.
They pointed to a tiny babe within a cattle stall
a Savior bringing peace on earth, the greatest gift of all.
Preparing for the holidays for me is primarily a preparing of the heart–‘cuz what comes down is love–and for any season of life without end. The way to receive love isn’t to wrap anything up, but, to unwrap my heart.
Isn’t this why Christmas, Advent, unlike any other time of year, glimmers with a glimpse of heaven? It’s the time of year I strive to fulfill my purpose and reflect. Why is it easier to make Christmas cookies than to make my heart ready for the anticipation?
One thing I’d like to start anew next year is borrowing Laura’s Advent idea of capturing the best moments of the year. Do you observe Advent? What is your family Advent tradition? I would love to hear about your fun Advent craft project. (Ahh….yes, I made another hat. A post is coming, I promise. :D)
Happy crafting and keep those creative juices running!
