A little bit of this and, a little bit of that, makes a little bit of me.

The Other Side of Me

Wonderfully wired.

I woke up this morning to another incredible clear skies and sunshine, with a terrific urge to lie in bed all day and read.

Instead, I had volunteered to run the bookstore this afternoon for my friend Terri while she and her husband in the east coast.

Who would have thought, by helping a friend, brought unexpected reward.

Imagine my surprise when I closed up shop (must remember to flip the sign tomorrow!)

stepped outside,

and saw D.J. Wade Fagen setting up

for FLASHBACK CRUZ, annual classic car show/parade

over 400 Classic’s vehicles on display, from 8 a.m to 10 p.m.–for all vehicles 1974 and older–in Drake Park

hosted by Central Oregon Classic Chevy Club.

There is always something fun happening in Bend, Oregon.

Central Oregon is home to a variety of year-round events from sporting and recreational festivities.

If you haven’t been to my neck of the woods, just come on over 😀

There is always a surprise and delight

just right around the corner

that will keep your heart warm for a long time!

Some days, when struggling through the oppressive heat and humidity of a high desert summer, I fanaticize about cold weather.

When stifling temperature is exceeded only by spirit-crushing humidity level and the simple act of walking from the house to downtown leave me looking like the half-mad, sweat-streaked survivor of an Asian walk-a-bout gone horribly wrong,

I have to fight the urge to pack up and move to the deep woods of the rocky mountains, anywhere that might provide a bit of relief from the God-forsaken hot box here in August. Funny though, now think back of those seven months of cold winter I just endured, August isn’t quite so horrible after all.

A glorious early-August glimpses of summer…sleeping with the windows open…the general sense of health and well-being that comes with being not too cold…and all of the wonderful things it brings…

I’ll soak it all in and feel just a bit of more appreciation for home.

Though my poor soles have taken some major beating from the long walk to downtown and back home, I won’t do it any other way.

Happy crafting and keep those creative juices running!

(still doesn’t do texting, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, DiggIt…)
