A little bit of this and, a little bit of that, makes a little bit of me.

a shop sample specifically requested by Knit-Purl.  What can I say? Great pattern, instant gratification, and a great use of beautiful 2-ply linen lace, in naturally-dyed walnut by Tactile Fiber Arts Studio.

It makes a wonderfully soft–even softer with each wash–organic summer scarf/shawl that is perfect to ward off chilly mornings or overenthusiastic air conditioning!

I didn’t think I would love to knit with linen but this was very enjoyable

and Annis was quick to knit up in an evening.   It just awaits patiently to be bathed and blocked for some fun photo shot  in the morning 😀

So a few weeks back, I got this yardage counter by Boyd.  I thought it would be fun to test it out on Annis.

Based on the scale, I consumed 37 grams or 248 yards for the project.  The Boyd gadget indicated 304 yards–a whopping 56-yard discrepancy!!!  Sheesh…what a disappointment.  Boyd is out.   My old fashioned scale and niddy noddy are here to stay 😀

Happy crafting and keep those creative juices running!

(still doesn’t do texting, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, DiggIt…)
