Nothing life-or-death. It wouldn’t be the first time that I ran out of yarn…after four stores…drove over 100 miles…I gave up finally, out of desperation, and got these two skeins of Sugar’ n Cream before headed over to Textiles A Mano
in order to work on the aran lace pullover for Relief Nursery in Eugene, OR. So, why does it bother me so? Normally I wouldn’t really care. I would laugh or make a silly comment and move on. I don’t quite understand. Today, I feel disgusted…having to settle for a contrast color…and not completely pleased with the outcome! Should I have just bite the bullet and get a skein, through mail order, at suggested retail price with added shipping cost? Next time, I’ll be smarter…make sure I have at least two skeins on hand before casting on! Fearless knitting is an admirable thing to aspire to but I will definitely take another lesson learned to heart 😀
On an up note, I love social knitting and tonight was a blast…meeting Liz, Tammie, Jackie, Jo, Mollie, Bonnie, Gwen, Anson & his mom (funny how I can remember a child’s name and not the mom!)…and plenty more I’ve since forgotten their names. It was a wonderful evening in Laura’s shop. I so enjoyed myself!
Happy crafting and keep those creative juices running!
