A little bit of this and, a little bit of that, makes a little bit of me.

Go on then–show me your finished thingies. Not the UFOs that have been haunting you, just the thing you have just OFF the needles, ENDS weaved in, SEAMS sewn, and ready for the catwalk. Tonight, after another fun/fabulous guild night this time with Karla Alexander (sorry no photo this time–and to recap last night’s specific treat–it would warrant its own post!), this deliciously 5-skein (or 955 yards) rippled lace wonder is off the needles

More details to come…meanwhile, ten skeins of heavenly Shibui yarns wound and a new project cast on

Shibuiknits new yarn CLOUD (now in stock) is ridiculously shiny, silky, and combining with Staccato–another remarkable show-stopper! I hope to have it done by tomorrow night before hitting the road for the holiday weekend. Want to pet? The rippled lace and this sillky stunner will be at upcoming TNNA Summer Trade Show on June 11-13. It’s absolutely wonderful to have some finished projects…precious moments…to share, finally. It brought me relaxation and contentment. I am on Cloud 9 and can’t come down 😀

I am clearing off my plate for next few months to focus on my own design projects for submission. One of which is the Fall 2011 Shop Hop, organized by The Capital Area Yarn Shop Collective. The weekend event involves over 300 participants in the mid-Michigan area visiting four independent yarn shops: Woven Art, Rae’s Yarn Boutique, Yarn Garden, and Sticks and Strings Old Town. Pattern–consisting of sketches, swatches, and if possible, photos of the finished project–is to be aimed at an Advanced Beginning Knitter skill level. The design should call for yarn that can be easily substituted. Proposal is due by June 20. Patterns must be to the shops by August 15 for sample knitting. If accepted, I am responsible for professional printing AND presentation of my pattern(s)–320 hard copy patterns are due to the shops by Sept 6. The prize? How does $900 sound? Interested?

  1. That sounds like a wonderful opportunity! Are you making the trip to Michigan? Will you be allowed to share your designs elsewhere afterward? You are a busy, busy gal!
