It was love at first sight. The project is a very easy, quick knit if you are well-versed in short row concept. In a selfless act today–and in a way to ignore Celtic Icon–while awaiting my Filatura Di Crosa Dusk in Color #4 order to arrive, I casted on in a skein of Sugar ‘N Cream Playtime, onto my addi US7 circular needles for the lovely top this morning. Away we went, in hours time and three skeins later, a third of the top is finished.
Pattern: Shimmer & Shine Strapless Babydoll Top and Capelet from Knitter’s Magazine Issue 90 Spring, 2008
Yarn: 9 skeins total of Sugar ‘N Cream Playtime and ???
Needles: US Size 7 Addi Circulars
Gauge: 4.5 stitches/6 rows in an inch/stockinette
Modification: So far, I only repeated rows in the peplum 13 times (instead of 14X per pattern.) Plan to use different colorway for the top bodice
Comments: Another easy, mindless TV knitting or knitting-to-go pattern. You will love to see how amazing it looks in self-striping fiber and with flattering flare.
Thanks, Knitter’s Design Team, for an awesome Spring 2008 issue focusing on techniques like intarsia, stranding, stripes with attitude, and color outside the lines.
As promised, the pinwheel pullover’s sleeves are back on the needles. What do you think of the lace in Louisa Harding’s Grace Silk & Wool?
