A little bit of this and, a little bit of that, makes a little bit of me.

Here is a preview of a vibrant, elegant vine fingerless mitt I just whipped up this morning for a holiday gift. It is more stretchy than the girls would prefer so I will definitely switch to Size 1 needles for the kids’ mitts next.

I got two skeins of SHiBUi KNit Sock Superwash Merino, in Orchid, a few months ago (30 sts=4″ in US2 needles.) They have been sitting on the dinning table ever since. It is just perfect for this elegant project.

Knitting was a pleasure because the yarn is very soft and silky. Though the pattern was quite easy for an experienced knitter to comprehend and adapt accordingly in the repeats, I question an intermediate knitter would not get lost in the process. When I have more time, I will post a clearer instruction here for those who may like to take on this project; as well as sharing other projects completed in the past few days.

Now, time to cast on the left mitt before taking the kids to their gymnastic practice and sewing right after. It’ll be a busy day all over!
