Ruth Marshall creates anatomically-correct, knitted animal pelts. I was fortunate to see her awe-inspiring work in person at San Jose Museum in California! Don’t sweat it if you missed Ruth last year in New York at Vogue Knitting LIVE and at her other exhibits, here is another shot, April – June 2012. If you either live in Maine or are traveling there, you are in luck.
Since Fashion week season has officially commenced in Europe last month and slowly melting away the mild winter we have here in Central Oregon, I find myself drowning in yarn as recycled hand-spun fibers, extreme knits, and origami-like construction taken center stage. I am drawing even more a deep connection with textile and fiber art and the use of a wide variety of colors, fabrics, threads, and yarns as I look ahead…so many creative dimensions are at play in my future work. What is your current interest and inspiration?
A home-made spa day with my older teen, just hours before her District Solo Ensemble competition earlier today. It was a smashin’ day (from head to toes!) How was your day?
Happy crafting and keep those creative juices running!
