I’m Alive

The time change this morning really threw me for a loop. But I soldiered on and finished what I figured would be the most crazy week of my month. (More on this new cloche later.)

I came out the other side mostly unscathed and am mollified.

It’s Sunday. The question of what to do came to mind earlier in the day.

Instead of a typical stroll or a movie, older teen asked to go to the Central Oregon Symphony and enjoy an afternoon of wonderful music. She was there last night with her 4H peeps serving cookies and beverages.

I love going to the symphony and listening to all the instruments–but on its own, piano and harp are still my favorites.

This week’s opening was a stellar. Auditorium was packed–1,400 audience! Central Oregon Symphony is clearly a band that doesn’t feel penned in by genre labels or limitations of a particular style.

An exciting bonus was 3 Leg Torso from Portland, OR.

Such a sea change from when I first arrived.

Kudos to our fantastic conductor, Maestro Michael Gesme,

and all of the players (especially my devoted flute section) for another spectacular performance.

Further your source of entertainment and experience the beautiful symphony from where the music happens–on stage. One more chance to see 3 Leg Torso–funny, entertaining, and engaging ensemble–tomorrow, 7:30 p.m., at Bend High School.  It won’t disappoint.  Nothing is better than great music.
