The Fiercest Storm

will pass.  All will return to normal once again…soon.  I will remain calm and still in all conditions, good or bad, regardless if everything around me appears changed, or in turmoil.

At the end of the day, sleep comes with a satisfaction of being at home.

I LOVE sweet potato ANYTHING and made a pudding casserole today. This simple, delish treat is for you, my casein-free crowd. :D

INGREDIENTS
2 C Sweet Potatoes, grated
1 1/2 C Milk (I use Whole Milk for its richness)
2 C Organic Sugar
3/4 stick Melted Butter
3 Eggs
Pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 275°
1. Mix potatoes with milk.
2. Add rest of the ingredients.
3. Pour into greased baking dish.
Bake for 1 1/2 hours. Let it cool. Serve with whipped cream and/or top with crushed pecans & brown sugar on top, if you have any.

Bon appetit. Here is Silky Luna aka Selena, modeled by my accommodating 36″ life-size barbie.

Happy crafting and keep those creative juices running!

Storm is Coming

So is winter. My windows were open–not ‘cuz it’s warm out–rather trying to air out the smoke from Saturday!

In the Northern Hemisphere, November is the last month of fall…the time when harvests are gathered in and stored away for the long, dark, cold wintertime. The Year of Encouragement will soon to be history. Two thousand and twelve, the Year of no excuses, is right around the corner. Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12 NIV) No matter how hard I try, I will never know everything about the things that I face in my day-to-day. So neither expect to nor feel that I have to know everything just to try something new. In fact, the best way to learn can be by just doing. Try and see what happens…

I will need to stock up on warm clothes and accessories to keep cozy during the dark times ahead. Every day may not be good…but there is something good in everyday. Tomorrow maybe better or worse than the last, but it will be new and interesting.

Say hello to Selena, one of Agi’s latest test design, in silky soft Caron Country Claret. This chic beret may be worn as a beanie by skipping the blocking step. Basic XO cables repeated intuitively throughout doesn’t show in the dark yarn. It’ll be better once it’s blocked and modeled in natural lighting. From cast-on to finish, it took under 3 hours. Guess what I’ll be making most of this holiday?

Back to crafting to prepare for a coming winter… storm…bad/good time in my nerdery. Buckle up, drive safely, and stay warm.

Happy crafting and keep those creative juices running!
