Over 78-yard was knitted by over 100 visitors during a 3-day weekend in June, two years ago, on two Giant Knitting Nancy
to create this exceptionally COOL, exciting seating structure defining the space at Jubilee Gardens, Canary Wharf.
The Welcoming City was ’2010 theme for London Festival of Architecture, inspired Superblue Design to create an installation where all could sit together to enjoy the space, but also take an active role in making that place. Entitled Giant Knitting Nancy, the project is a metaphor for the interwoven cultures, spaces and places that help make the London a distinctive place. There was not a ball empty during lunch break as office workers joined in. Read more about the community project and photos here.

It’s definitely doable…weaving through Drake, Riverbend, Farewell Bend or other parks here in the high desert.
Play is how I learn and keep my brain stimulated and engaged. Anyone cares to delve into this pleasant green environmental project in the middle of a park with me?
Happy crafting and keep those creative juices running!
(still doesn’t do texting, MySpace, Twitter, StumbleUpon, DiggIt…but caved into Facebook!)

Doesn’t it, Ron. I am so excited about the potential and working up plan and details to present to city council. Wish me luck! We have a rather conservative group in a small town…
